Synopsis
“Ich war zuhause, aber…”, directed by Angela, is an intimate drama about a mother Astrid whose son Philip returns home after being missing for a week, with no words or explanations. His return opens the questions about loss, distance and the breakdown of family relationships. Astrid faces her own boundaries of parental influence, while the family is broken and then rebuilt. It was awarded the Silver Bear for Best Director at the Berlinale.
