Synopsis

Film „Alfa Tau!“ by Francesco De Robertis is a war drama about the life of Italian submariners filmed in Pula. It is the third part of a war trilogy and won the Grand Prix at the 1942 Venice Film Festival. It was authentically filmed at the Pula submarine base on the island of Sveta Katarina, with the participation of real sailors and local extras. Introductory scenes include real locations in Pula (railway station, commercial and sacral architecture), bringing us back to the atmosphere of World War II. It is about 90 minutes long, and it follows the mission of commander Bruno Zelik, who was soon killed in the real war.
