Synopsis
“Hortikultira”, directed by Silva Ćapin and inspired by a short story from the collection “Prepreke” written by Valent Pavlić, revolves around a married couple who, upon arriving at their apartment, find a neglected garden. The reason: tragedy of their neighbour Marija, who was taking care of it. Although they are sympathetic, their focus quickly shifts to numbers and dead plants. The film subtly exposes the petty-bourgeois coldness and conformity which transcends even death itself.
