Synopsis

The film adaptation of a novel “La rosa rossa” follows the emotional story of the return of the Austro-Hungarian general Paolo Barzeri after World War I. It was filmed in historical Central European setting, primarily in Rovinj hinterland, including Rovinj, Valba, Labin and Kopar. The film brings an emotional and somewhat melancholic atmosphere which entails a string of emotional and sentimental threads. Nevertheless, the small provincial world is not deprived of small secrets, like the red rose found in the glass by the Count.
