Motovun, located in the north of Istria above the Mirna River valley, is one of the most famous Istrian medieval towns. Motovun is dominated by a Romanesque-Gothic bell tower with a crenellated crown from the 13th century, and there is also the parish church of St. Stephen from the 17th century and the Romanesque communal palace on the central square.
