Synopsis
“Pelikan” is a film début by Filip Heraković from Pula. It is the story of a football player Josip, forced to return to the Mediterranean resort after knee injury, where he faces his own identity, past and sorrow. The film was shot in Istria, mainly in Istarske toplice, with the local team and extras, which additionally emphasizes the authenticity of the location. This drama with the elements of comedy won the special award at the Tallinn Black Nights festival in 2022 for direction. At the Auteur Film Festival in Belgrade, it won the Hrabri Balkan award for the best film.
