“Rafaël” is a true and a touching story of a pregnant Dutch woman Kimmy and her husband a Tunisian Nazir, who ends up in a refugee camp on Lampedusa. The Arab Spring forces a Tunisian Nazir, who is married to a pregnant Dutch hairdresser Kimmy, to escape to Europe. While Kimmy deals with the administration and boundaries, she tries to save him before their child is born. The film explores love, loyalty and honesty in the world which finds it increasingly difficult to recognize the individual behind refugee status.
