FILMS - Speak no Evil

The American remake “Speak no Evil”, filmed in 2024 and directed by James Wilkins, is based on a Danish film from 2022, which was inspired by a true experience of the director Christian Tafdrup. The original film shocked the viewers with its brutal ending and a deep criticism of social politeness; the remake softens the ending and puts the focus on watchability. It was filmed in Istria, which is often chosen as a filming location thanks to its versatility and attractive locations. This version looks more polished visually, but in the opinion of many critics, it does not convey the same level of psychological horror and social criticism as the original.
