Synopsis
“Život sa stricem”, directed by Krsto Papić and based on the novel by Ivan Aralica, tells a story of a young man whose life is marked by a relationship with a powerful and cruel uncle. Through family drama, the issues of ideology, repression and personal freedom in the context of post-war Yugoslavia are intertwined. It powerfully paints the conflict between generations, moral and politics. The film was partly filmed in Istria, which compellingly depicts rural atmosphere of Dalmatian hinterland.
